A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Merton is seeking an experienced and passionate SENCo to lead and shape SEND provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic SEND leader to drive attainment, embed high-quality inclusive practice, and make a genuine impact on young people’s outcomes.

The Role
As SENCo, you will:
- Lead and strategically develop SEND provision across the academy
- Raise progress and attainment for pupils with additional needs
- Oversee EHCPs, annual reviews, referrals, and statutory processes
- Line manage and develop Teaching Assistants and SEND support staff
- Deliver CPD and support all teachers to be confident teachers of SEND
- Champion inclusive teaching practices across KS3–KS5
- Work collaboratively with families, senior leaders, and external agencies
About You
- NASENCo or NPQSENDCo (or equivalent) and QTS/QTLS
- You must be a secondary trained teacher, or a teacher who has solid experince teaching in secondary mainstream settings
- Will consider any subject specialism
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory processes
- Confident in managing EHCP/IEP systems and annual reviews
- Experienced in team leadership and staff development
- Strategic, proactive, and highly organised
- Committed to inclusion and improving outcomes for young people
