A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Merton is seeking an experienced and passionate SENCo to lead and shape SEND provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic SEND leader to drive attainment, embed high-quality inclusive practice, and make a genuine impact on young people’s outcomes.

The Role

As SENCo, you will:

  • Lead and strategically develop SEND provision across the academy
  • Raise progress and attainment for pupils with additional needs
  • Oversee EHCPs, annual reviews, referrals, and statutory processes
  • Line manage and develop Teaching Assistants and SEND support staff
  • Deliver CPD and support all teachers to be confident teachers of SEND
  • Champion inclusive teaching practices across KS3–KS5
  • Work collaboratively with families, senior leaders, and external agencies

About You

  • NASENCo or NPQSENDCo (or equivalent) and QTS/QTLS
  • You must be a secondary trained teacher, or a teacher who has solid experince teaching in secondary mainstream settings
  • Will consider any subject specialism 
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory processes
  • Confident in managing EHCP/IEP systems and annual reviews
  • Experienced in team leadership and staff development
  • Strategic, proactive, and highly organised
  • Committed to inclusion and improving outcomes for young people
