We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school, which incorporates a well-established SEND provision, is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join our team.
About the Role
As SENCO, you will:
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
- Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to develop and implement effective strategies for children with additional needs.
- Oversee Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
- Provide support, training, and guidance to teaching staff to promote inclusive practices throughout the school.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and evaluate the school’s SEND policy and ensure it aligns with the school’s vision.
Requirments for SENCO role;
- A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience working with children with SEND.
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or a commitment to achieving it within 3 years).
- In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external professionals.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity within the school community.
