Some of the biggest milestones don't come with certificates. They look like eye contact, a first word, joining in on a game with peers or trying something new without fear.

For the children you'll support, these moments can take weeks, sometimes months so when they happen, they're unforgettable!

We're working with a nurturing primary school in Havering that is looking for an Early Years SEND Practitioner to join them this September. This is a place where you'll have the time, support and encouragement to do your best work.

What your days could look like

No two days are ever the same.

You might be helping a child discover a new way to communicate, supporting sensory exploration, building confidence through play, encouraging friendships, or adapting activities so every child can take part.

You'll work closely with experienced teachers and SEND professionals to support children across the Early Years Foundation Stage with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • Social Communication Differences
  • Sensory Processing Needs
  • Developmental Delay

This isn't about standing at the side of a classroom.

It's about being part of those moments that change a child's experience of school forever.

You'll fit right in if you...

  • Bring calm, warmth and consistency to every interaction.
  • Understand that progress doesn't always follow a straight line.
  • Enjoy finding creative ways to help children engage and succeed.
  • Build trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Have experience supporting children in an EYFS and/or SEND setting.
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning (Level 3 preferred).

Most of all, you'll believe that every child deserves someone who sees what they can do—not just what they find difficult.

Why people stay

  • A genuinely welcoming and supportive school community.
  • Experienced teachers and SEND specialists who work collaboratively.
  • Ongoing training and opportunities to build specialist SEND experience.
  • A clear pathway to a permanent role after 12 weeks.
  • The chance to play a meaningful part in a child's earliest learning journey.

Ready for September?

Interviews are already being arranged for the week commencing 22 June 2026, and we'd love to tell you more about the school.
