SEND Learning Support Assistant

Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full Time | Long-Term | Temp to Perm opportunity
Start: Easter 2026
This is not a short-term placement or day-to-day cover. This is a stable, long-term role within one school setting, designed for someone who wants consistency, routine, and the opportunity to build real relationships over time.
If you value job security, clear structure, and being part of a school community, this role offers all three.
About the Role
We are recruiting SEND Learning Support Assistants for long-term positions in supportive schools across Havering. You will be based in one school setting, working consistently with the same pupils and staff in a long-term role, with the opportunity for permanency.
You will support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, helping them access learning, build confidence, and feel safe in school. Needs may include Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties.
Schools are looking for reliable, committed LSAs who want to invest in a role and be part of their school community long-term.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND
- Support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation throughout the school day
- Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and learning styles
- Use positive behaviour strategies and clear, consistent boundaries
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
- Support pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities
Who We’re Looking For
- A strong, reliable personality with a genuine interest in SEND
- Professional or personal/lived experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
- Committed to consistency and long-term work in one setting
- School experience welcomed but not essential
- Backgrounds in care, youth work, education, psychology, or SEN support are highly valued
Whether your experience is professional or personal, if you’re dependable and passionate about supporting children, we want to hear from you.
Why Apply?
- Long-term placement in one school
- Temp to perm opportunity offering stability and security
- Consistent hours and pay
- Supportive school environments
- Guidance and support from SEND specialists throughout your placement
