A mainstream Secondary school in Enfield are seeking an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated SEND team to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school is committed to ensuring every student reaches their full potential and has a strong SEND provision that supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, dyslexia, and EHCPs.
Your Part in Their Story
- Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support for students with additional learning needs.
- Assisting pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging fully in classroom activities.
- Supporting students both within lessons and during break and lunchtime periods.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENDCo, and other professionals to implement support strategies and interventions.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, confidence, and social development.
- Monitoring student progress and contributing to individual support plans where appropriate.
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
What You Will Bring
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in an educational, care, or youth work setting.
- Knowledge of needs such as Autism, SEMH, ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
