SEND Learning Support Assistant
Location: Romford, Havering
Start date: September 2026
Pay: £95 per day
Contract: September to December initially
Potential: Permanent position for the right person
If you are an experienced SEND LSA looking for something that could become a permanent role, this is one worth talking about. I am looking for someone with genuine hands on experience of working with children with SEND to join a school in Romford from September.
This is initially a role from September to December, with the intention to find someone who could stay permanently. So if you are tired of moving from one short term placement to another and would like the opportunity to find a school where you can actually settle, this could be a good fit.
I am not looking for someone who simply has the right qualifications on paper. I am looking for someone who knows SEND. Someone who understands that building a relationship can take time. Someone who can recognise when a child is struggling before it becomes a bigger issue. Someone who can stay calm when a situation becomes challenging and knows when to step in, when to step back and when to try something completely different.
You will need to be confident supporting children with additional needs, comfortable working closely with teachers and able to use your own initiative.
Most importantly, you need to be someone who genuinely enjoys this work. This welcoming, well resourced school is looking for a person who can start in September, get to know the children and staff, become part of the team and potentially make this their permanent role.
