Specialist SEND Provision | Full-Time | September Start
Could you be the person who helps a child feel understood, supported and confident enough to take their next step?
We’re working with a specialist SEND provision that supports children and young people aged 3–19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
The school is looking for a caring and committed SEND LSA to join their supportive team and help pupils access learning, develop their independence and feel confident in their surroundings.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to build meaningful relationships with pupils and make a genuine difference to their day-to-day lives.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide personalised support to pupils across the school, helping them engage with learning and develop both academically and personally.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support
-
Supporting communication, engagement and learning through creative approaches
-
Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
-
Working alongside teachers, therapists and wider support staff
-
Supporting pupils with personal care where required, always maintaining their dignity
-
Helping create a calm, structured and positive learning environment
-
Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil
No two pupils will be the same, so you’ll need to be flexible and willing to find different ways to help each child engage and make progress.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is caring, patient and genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND.
You’ll ideally be:
-
Naturally caring and patient
-
Confident building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
-
Reliable and committed to making a difference
-
A positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively
-
Open to learning and developing your knowledge of SEND
-
Comfortable adapting your approach around individual needs
Previous experience working with SEND, SLD or PMLD would be beneficial, but the most important thing is your attitude and willingness to learn.
You’ll understand that progress can look different for every child, and that sometimes the smallest achievement can be a huge step forward.
About the School
This is a specialist SEND setting, supporting pupils aged 3–19 with SLD and PMLD.
The provision has been designed around the needs of its pupils, creating a safe, engaging and inclusive environment where every young person is given the opportunity to access learning in a way that works for them.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team that works closely with teachers, therapists and support staff, with a strong focus on supporting each pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
The school also offers ongoing training and development, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within SEND.
