Location: Witham, Essex
Pay: £95–£105 per day PAYE
Hours: 8:30am–4:00pm, term-time only
Contract: Full-time, long-term with temp-to-perm opportunity
Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a specialist school in Witham, supporting children and young people aged 4–19 with needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH and severe learning difficulties.
You’ll help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop independence, working alongside teachers and other support staff. Support may be 1:1, 2:1 or in small groups, depending on pupils’ needs.
The role includes:

Supporting pupils with learning, communication and emotional regulation.

Building positive relationships and encouraging independence.

Following individual learning and behaviour support plans.

Using calm, consistent approaches when pupils become distressed.

Providing personal care where required.

Working with teachers and other professionals to support each pupil.
Who would suit the role?
Previous specialist SEND experience is useful, but the school will consider people with transferable experience in education, care, youth work or support roles. You’ll need patience, resilience, a willingness to learn and the ability to stay calm when things get challenging.
Training and support include:

Five-day induction and structured shadowing.

Specialist training, including behaviour support and manual handling.

Support from an experienced team.
