SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSA)
Location: Mainstream Primary School with ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) Hackney
Full-Time Positions Available
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join our team and support children with special educational needs in a mainstream primary school setting in Hackney. This is an exciting opportunity to work 1:1 or 2:1 with pupils who require additional support within mainstream classes, as well as collaborating with our ARP unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support for children with Autism, behavioural challenges, and speech and language difficulties
- Assist with personal care when necessary
- Work closely with teachers to implement and adapt individual education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to promote emotional and academic development
- Help maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere, encouraging engagement and participation
- Collaborate with the wider staff team to ensure a consistent approach to each child’s needs
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with Autism, speech and language difficulties, and challenging behaviours
- Experience with personal care (or willingness to be trained)
- First Aid training is highly beneficial (can be offered to the right candidates)
- Strong communication skills and a pro-active, personable attitude
- A professional and supportive approach to working with both children and colleagues
- Willingness to contribute to the school community and support inclusion across the school

Requirements:
- A passion for supporting children with SEND and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
- DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one before starting)
- Flexibility, patience, and a collaborative attitude
