Salary: £42,319 - £46,328 per annum

A growing specialist school in North West London are seeking a SEND Primary Teacher to join a specialist setting dedicated to supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The Role
As a SEND Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, engaging, and differentiated curriculum through a primary-style teaching model, ensuring pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
You will take a holistic approach to education, supporting young people to achieve their academic potential, EHCP outcomes, and personal aspirations, whilst promoting positive wellbeing and emotional growth.
This is a role for an educator who understands that learning starts with connection and who is passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for pupils who may have experienced barriers to education.
What You'll Be Doing
- Planning, delivering, and assessing creative and engaging lessons across the curriculum.
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of neurodiverse learners and pupils with additional social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Developing individual learning pathways linked to EHCP outcomes.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils through consistent and nurturing practice.
- Using positive reinforcement, emotional regulation strategies, and therapeutic approaches to behaviour support.
- Acting as a form tutor, providing pastoral guidance and daily support.
- Working closely with therapeutic professionals, families, and colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for each pupil.
- Monitoring academic progress, attendance, wellbeing, and engagement.
- Leading and supporting classroom support staff, contributing to their professional development and performance management.
- Creating a calm, structured, and predictable environment where pupils can flourish.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS).
- Experience teaching within Key Stages 1, 2, or 3.
- Strong understanding of SEND, particularly ASC and/or SEMH.
- Excellent knowledge of curriculum planning and differentiation.
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Calm, resilient, and reflective approach to teaching and behaviour support.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a SEND, nurture, alternative provision, or therapeutic setting.
- SEND-specific qualifications or additional training.
- Experience working alongside therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
