We are recruiting a passionate SEND Teacher to join a growing special school in Cricklewood, supporting children and young people with Autism (ASC) and associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This specialist setting supports pupils aged 7–16 who have often found mainstream education challenging. The school provides an integrated, therapeutic approach, with a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, personalised learning and calm, structured environments that allow pupils to re-engage with education and thrive.
The Role
As a SEND Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping meaningful learning experiences and supporting both academic and personal development. You will:
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
- Teach small classes of pupils with Autism and SEMH needs across primary or secondary age ranges
- Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Support pupils' emotional regulation, communication and social development
- Assess progress and adapt your teaching to ensure positive, realistic outcomes
- Work collaboratively with therapists, SEN support staff and families as part of a multidisciplinary team
Who This Role Would Suit
Applications are welcomed from experienced SEN Teachers and mainstream teachers looking to transition into specialist education. You will ideally have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with Autism and/or SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, trauma-informed approach
- Creativity, patience and resilience
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to inclusive, child-centred practice and continuing professional development
