I’m currently working with a specialist primary setting in Hertfordshire looking for a Class Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who wants to work in a nurturing, specialist environment where progress is celebrated in all its forms.

About the role

As a Class Teacher, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day education, care and development of a group of pupils with Special Educational Needs.

You’ll plan and deliver personalised learning programmes linked to individual EHCP outcomes, monitor progress and create opportunities for pupils to develop academically, socially and personally.

You’ll also work closely with support staff, families and other professionals to ensure each pupil receives the right support to thrive.

This is a specialist primary environment supporting children with:

• Learning difficulties

• Autism

• Speech and language difficulties

The school places a strong emphasis on working together, achieving together and aiming higher, with a curriculum designed around the individual needs and abilities of its pupils.

What you’ll be doing

• Planning and delivering engaging, personalised lessons

• Working towards individual EHCP outcomes

• Monitoring, recording and reporting pupil progress

• Preparing for and contributing to Annual Reviews

• Providing pastoral support throughout the school day

• Working collaboratively with parents, professionals and colleagues

• Leading and supporting a small team of LSAs

• Contributing to curriculum development

• Supporting assessment and pupils’ individual records of achievement

• Taking responsibility for a curriculum area across the school

You don’t necessarily need years of specialist school experience. If you’re a passionate teacher who is keen to develop your SEND practice and make a genuine difference, this could be an excellent opportunity.
