Parker Smith Inclusion is seeking a dedicated SLD/PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a warm, specialist SEND secondary school in Sutton. This long-term, full-time role offers a fulfilling opportunity to support students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
About the Role:
You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, in a well-resourced school that puts inclusion and student wellbeing at the heart of everything they do. The role involves:

Providing 1:1 and group support to students with a wide range of needs, including Autism, non-verbal communication, sensory processing differences, and mobility/motor skill challenges

Supporting with personal care and promoting emotional wellbeing

Assisting students during dysregulation episodes with a calm and empathetic approach

Engaging students in sensory circuits and adapted learning activities

Building strong, supportive relationships with students and staff
Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience working with students with SLD, PMLD, or Autism is highly desirable

Comfortable with personal care and supporting physical needs

Confident using or learning communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC
-
Compassionate, resilient, and committed to inclusive education

A team player who is proactive and positive
