SEND Teaching Assistant – Special Needs School
Location: Schools in Sutton, Merton, Wandsworth, Kingston
Daily Rate: £90 – £95 per day
Contract: Full-time | Term-time only | Immediate & September starts available

We seek Autism Teaching Assistants to join several fantastic special needs schools across Sutton, Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston. These schools cater to students with Autism (ASC), complex learning needs, SEMH, dysregulation, and associated communication and sensory challenges.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting students aged between 4–19 with tailored learning programmes, sensory-based activities, and behaviour regulation strategies.
You may be required to:

Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with Autism and complex needs

Assist with sensory circuits, sensory play, and structured routines

Use tools like PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables to aid communication

Support students with personal care, where required

Help implement behaviour support strategies such as PBS, Team Teach, or MAPA techniques
We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:
Experience working with children or young people with Autism and SEN
Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, Team Teach, MAPA or PBS (desirable)
A calm, resilient and nurturing approach to behaviour
Willingness to support with personal care and physical support where necessary
A proactive and collaborative mindset – you're a team player!
