Teaching Assistant – ASC & Complex Needs
Location: Hounslow, West London
Contract type: Full-time, Long-term (term-time only)
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (PAYE)
About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Hounslow.
In this role, you will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, helping students to access learning, build independence, and develop communication and social skills. Every day will be different, and your support will make a tangible difference to a child’s life.
Key Responsibilities

Supporting students with ASC and complex needs both in and out of the classroom

Using strategies such as visual supports, structured routines, and communication aids (PECS, Makaton, AAC)

Promoting independence, social interaction, and emotional regulation

Building strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families

Assisting with sensory regulation, behaviour support, and personal care (if required – training provided)

Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to ensure holistic support
What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children or young people with ASC, complex needs, or SEMH (professional or voluntary)

A calm, patient, and adaptable approach

Strong communication skills and the ability to understand non-verbal communication

A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
