SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist Further Education Provision

Pay: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)

This innovative setting includes a fully operational on-site café where learners develop hospitality, customer service, and employability skills in a supportive environment. Your role will combine academic support with hands-on learning experiences that help students thrive.
Your responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students aged 16+ with SEND
- Assist in lessons focused on life skills, vocational training, and community learning
- Encourage independence, communication, and social development
- Support practical activities within the café and wider work environments
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external partners to ensure student success
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging educational environment
Requirements
- Experience supporting young people with SEND is highly desirable
- Positive, patient, and proactive approach
- Willingness to support practical learning in real-life settings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
