Support a Bright Young Learner to Thrive Every Day

Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school that is looking for a dedicated 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant. The role involves supporting a Year 3 pupil with ASD and ADHD, helping her to engage positively in learning and develop both academically and socially.

About the Pupil

The pupil has an Education Health and Care Plan and benefits from consistent, structured support throughout the school day. She is bright and capable but requires calm guidance, clear routines, and firm yet nurturing boundaries to maintain focus and confidence.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored strategies and provide consistent support in line with the pupil’s needs. The right candidate will be patient, resilient, and compassionate, helping the pupil achieve her full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1 to 1 support in class and during other parts of the school day

  • Use calm, clear communication to guide the pupil and manage challenging situations

  • Support during lunchtimes and playtimes to promote positive peer interaction and inclusive play

  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider staff team to maintain consistency

  • Support the wider class when appropriate, encouraging inclusion where beneficial

Who You Are

  • Calm, reliable, and consistent in your approach

  • Firm but kind, confident in setting boundaries while remaining empathetic

  • Patient and nurturing, able to create a safe and supportive environment

  • Professional, respectful, and able to maintain appropriate boundaries

  • Experienced supporting children with ASD and ADHD or familiar with primary or SEND settings

Why Join This School

This is a highly rewarding role where your support will make a tangible difference in a child’s daily life. You will be part of a caring staff team, receive guidance from SEND specialists, and play a key role in helping this pupil continue to progress and thrive.

If you are an experienced, compassionate Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children overcome challenges and grow, we would love to hear from you.
