SEND Teaching Assistant - Hillingdon

 

Are you looking for a new role as a SEND Teaching Assistant in Ickenham, Uxbridge? If so, this may be the perfect role for you. Parker Smith Inclusion are working alongside a 'Good' SEND School who are seeking to appoint an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a mixed secondary class of KS3 and KS4 students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This will be a full-time, long-term position starting immediately with the opportunity to go permanent upon review. The daily rate will range from £90 to £100 PAYE dependent on your experience. 

 

About the school:

  • Located in Ickenham, Uxbridge

  • A special free school for pupils aged 4–19, part of a multi academy trust

  • Supports children and young people with a range of SEND, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical or sensory needs

  • Provides a personalised curriculum with small class sizes, focusing on communication, independence, and life skills

  • Rated “Good” by Ofsted, with strengths in pupil safety, curriculum design, and support

  • Emphasises inclusion, wellbeing, and preparation for adulthood, working closely with families and specialist services

 

About the role:

  • £90 to £100 PAYE per day, dependant on experience

  • Full-time, long-term position with the opportunity to go permanent

  • Mixed secondary class of KS3 and KS4 students

  • Supporting students with PMLD on a 1:1 basis

  • Assisting with personal care (feeding, changing, toileting) 

  • Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Available full-time, 5 days a week

  • Be able to work from 08:30 am to 04:00 pm

  • Able to support students with PMLD and additional needs

  • Comfortable with personal care

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN in a personal or professional setting

  • Patient and calm with a positive and proactive approach to learning
