A specialist school in Enfield is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2026. The school supports children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, autism and additional needs. The setting provides a supportive and structured environment where students are encouraged to develop independence, confidence and a positive approach to learning.
In this role, you would work closely with students throughout the school day, supporting them both in the classroom and during other activities around the school. Some pupils may require one-to-one support, while others benefit from working in small groups where they can receive more focused guidance. The role involves helping students access their learning, supporting communication and social development, and providing encouragement when they face challenges.
Building positive and trusting relationships is an important part of the role. Many students benefit from consistency, patience and clear routines, and staff work closely together to create a calm and supportive environment where pupils feel comfortable and understood.
The school is looking for someone who is patient, reliable and genuinely interested in supporting young people with additional needs. Previous experience working in a school or supporting children with special educational needs is helpful, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys helping students grow in confidence and make progress at their own pace.
