Some children need more than help with their learning.
They need someone who understands their world, recognises their potential and celebrates every step forward, no matter how small.
Parker Smith Inclusion is working in partnership with a purpose-built specialist SEND school in Chelmsford, supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
This is a setting where every child is seen as an individual. Learning is personalised, relationships come first, and staff are passionate about creating an environment where pupils feel safe, understood and supported to reach their potential.
The school is looking for compassionate, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistants who want to make a genuine difference. Whether you already have experience in specialist SEND or are looking to develop your career in this area, this is an opportunity to join a supportive team where your contribution really matters.
The Role

Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
-
Support pupils with communication, literacy, numeracy and personal development.
-
Help create engaging learning experiences that encourage participation, independence and confidence.
-
Work closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff to deliver personalised learning and care.
-
Provide personal and intimate care where required, always maintaining pupils' dignity and respect.
-
Support pupils with complex needs in a calm, structured and nurturing environment.
-
Celebrate individual progress and recognise that success looks different for every child.
Who Would Suit This Role?
-
Someone who is patient, empathetic and genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people.
-
A natural relationship-builder who understands the importance of trust, consistency and connection.

Someone interested in developing their knowledge of SLD, PMLD and specialist SEND education.
-
A proactive team player who is happy to learn from teachers, therapists and experienced colleagues.
-
Someone who understands that small steps can lead to life-changing progress.
Previous experience in SEND is beneficial, but the right attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to supporting pupils are equally important.
