A warm, inclusive mainstream primary school in London is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist Additional Resourced Provision (ARP). The ARP provides a calm, structured and supportive environment for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex learning needs, offering tailored support within a mainstream setting.

The ARP focuses on building communication, independence, emotional regulation and life skills — all personalised to each learner’s needs.
What this role involves:

Supporting pupils with autism and complex needs within a purpose-built ARP

Delivering and adapting learning activities to suit a range of needs and abilities

Promoting communication using visuals, Makaton, objects of reference and sensory strategies

Facilitating structured play, emotional support and social interaction

Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to provide consistent, joined-up support

Helping pupils feel safe, understood and confident in their learning environment

You are confident using or willing to learn communication tools and strategies for autism support
