If you are an experienced SENDCo, you already know the reality. Too many roles expect you to juggle everything at once with little support.
This is not one of those roles.
A well run, two form entry primary school in Havering is looking for a SENDCo who wants to focus on what really matters. After visiting the school, it is clear this is a setting where SEND is taken seriously, leadership is supportive, and systems are already in place to help you succeed.
What makes this role different
You will not be doing this alone.
You will be supported by a dedicated SENDCo Assistant who manages much of the day to day coordination with pupils. That means you can step into a role that allows you to lead, think strategically, and make a genuine impact rather than constantly firefighting.
There is no teaching requirement. You can choose to stay hands on with interventions, but the focus is on leadership, not cover.
Your focus will be
- Leading and developing SEND provision across the school
- Managing EHCP processes with confidence and clarity
- Building strong, trusting relationships with families
- Working closely with staff to ensure every child is supported effectively
- Driving improvements that have a lasting impact
Who would this role suit?
- A qualified SENDCo or a teacher working towards the NASENCO
- Someone who is organised, calm and confident in their decision making
- A professional who wants to feel valued, supported and able to do their role without restriction
