A large and vibrant Secondary school in Redbridge is seeking a SENDCo to join their welcoming team for September.
How you can fit into this role
You will develop, lead, and manage the strategy, resources, and practices required to meet the needs of pupils with SEND, ensuring all learners can fully access the curriculum and achieve strong outcomes.
You will be working alongside a Deputy SENDCo, and the SLT are supportive and experienced. The school has a large cohort of students with IEP's and those who require extra support. This is a place that promotes inclusivity, and has dedicated, specialist SEND staff that are highly experienced at working with students with SEND. You must have the SENCo qualification or be in the process of completing it.

- Beyond technical skills, the school wants someone to take ownership of the SEND department and really care for this area, nurturing the SEND department and focusing specifically on rebuilding transition plans and relationships with KS3 pupils
- Manage and develop a team of Teaching Assistants and SEND support colleagues
- Coordinate EHCPs, annual reviews, referrals, and new applications
- Support inclusive teaching practices across departments
- Work collaboratively with families and external agencies - this is vital as the school value their pupils and their families
About You
- Must hold NASENCo or NPQSENDCo
- Must be a Secondary trained teacher/SEND specialist teacher with a background in teaching in secondary
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
- Confident in leading annual reviews and managing EHCP/IEP processes
- Experienced in leading teams and delivering staff training
- Passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for young people
