Parker Smith Inclusion are working with a primary school in the Southend area that is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Senior Education Assistant (SEND) to join their team on a full-time, term-time only basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated education professional who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The successful candidate will play a lead role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to pupils with additional needs, working closely with the inclusion team and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities for pupils with SEND, in collaboration with class teachers

Provide targeted 1:1 and small group interventions both inside and outside the classroom

Maintain high standards of learning, engagement, and behaviour

Contribute to the development and review of the SEND curriculum to meet a wide range of learner needs

Monitor and record pupil progress using Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and autonomy when responding to pupil needs

Uphold the values and inclusive ethos of the school, contributing to wider school life
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have substantial experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a mainstream primary school

Possess strong behaviour management and classroom support skills

Be passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every child reach their full potential

Work proactively and collaboratively with teachers, leaders, and support staff
-
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of safeguarding procedures and the importance of pupil welfare

Be reflective and committed to ongoing professional development
