The School:
I am working with a special school in Newham that is part of a larger trust and they will be looking for a SLD Teacher for their PMLD site from January 2025. This particular school caters for children with PMLD, SLD, sensory and medical needs.
The role:
Working as an SLD Teacher you will be responsible for a small class of students that have severe learning difficulties, you will be required to adapt your lessons plans to cater for their needs as well as report any developments and progression that happens, I will be looking for candidates with the following experience:
- QTS is essential
- Experience working with children with severe learning difficulties, PMLD or other SEN needs within a school setting
- Special school experience preferred
- Experience working with children with medical needs and/or physical needs
- Worked closely with SENCo in a previous role
The person:
You must be adaptable, flexible and open minded to something different every day, you will be supporting children with complex needs and this requires a lot of patience, understanding and empathy.
