Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with severe and profound learning difficulties (SLD/PMLD)? Do you believe that every student, regardless of complexity of need, deserves access to rich, meaningful, and inclusive education?
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and creative SLD/PMLD teacher to join our welcoming and well-resourced secondary school, which caters for pupils aged 11–19 with complex medical, physical, and learning needs.
About the Role:
As a PMLD teacher in our school, you will:

Deliver highly personalised, multi-sensory lessons tailored to the needs of learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes communication, interaction, and independence.

Work closely with a team of specialist TAs, therapists, and medical professionals to provide holistic support to each student.

Use a variety of communication methods, including AAC, PECS, Makaton, and sensory stories.

Plan, assess, and differentiate the curriculum using EHCP outcomes and individualised learning plans.

Collaborate with families to ensure consistency between home and school, and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.

Manage a class team, ensuring clear communication, role-modelling best practice, and supporting professional development.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Has experience or a genuine interest in working with SLD/PMLD students and learners with complex needs.

Is confident planning and delivering differentiated, sensory-based lessons.

Has a strong understanding of safeguarding, medical protocols, and personalised learning approaches.

Demonstrates excellent teamwork, patience, and adaptability.
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply!
