About the Role
Parker Smith Inclusion is supporting an outstanding special primary school in Watford in their search for an experienced and dedicated Special Needs Teacher. The school provides exceptional education for children aged 4–11 with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs. It offers a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive through a bespoke and holistic curriculum.

As a Special Needs Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet pupils’ individual needs and EHCP outcomes. You will support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development, lead a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and work collaboratively with parents, carers and external professionals to provide consistent, effective support.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver individualised, creative lessons in line with pupils’ EHCPs

  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress and achievements

  • Promote wellbeing, independence and positive behaviour in the classroom

  • Line manage and support LSAs, encouraging their professional growth

  • Contribute to whole-school development and curriculum planning

  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals

  • Participate in enrichment activities such as PE, swimming and off-site visits

 

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs

  • A compassionate, flexible and creative approach to teaching

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
