Speech and Language Teaching Assistant

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Ealing is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in SEND, speech and language support, or is considering a future career in education or therapy.
The Role
You will be supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs, helping them build confidence and access learning. Working alongside the SENCO, teachers and Speech and Language Therapist, you will play an important part in each child's progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering speech and language interventions with support from the SENCO and Speech and Language Therapist
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Helping children develop their communication, language and social skills
- Using visual aids and communication strategies to support learning
- Monitoring progress and feeding back to teachers and the SEND team
- Supporting pupils in the classroom so they can fully access learning
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children with speech, language or communication needs
- Have worked in a primary school or SEND setting (preferred but not essential)
- Be patient, caring and able to build positive relationships
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
- Be reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting children's development
This role would also suit Speech and Language Therapy graduates, Psychology graduates, experienced Teaching Assistants, or anyone looking to build a career in education or therapy.
