A highly respected specialist SEN school in Brent is looking for a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join their on-site multidisciplinary team and take on a clinical leadership role across the setting.
The School
This is a forward-thinking specialist provision for pupils aged 3 to 19 with complex SEND, including autism, severe and profound learning difficulties, Down’s syndrome, complex medical needs, and speech, language and communication needs.
Therapy is fully embedded into daily school life. You will not be working in isolation here your input directly influences teaching, learning, and outcomes across the school.
The Role
As a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist with Clinical Lead responsibilities, you will play a key role in both delivering outstanding therapy and shaping best practice across the school.
Key responsibilities include

Delivering specialist Speech and Language Therapy interventions for pupils with complex SEND

Leading on dysphagia assessment, management, and safe practice across the school

Completing EHCP assessments, annual reviews, and detailed clinical reports

Designing and implementing personalised communication strategies and therapy programmes

Providing training, coaching, and practical strategies to school staff

Mentoring junior therapists and supporting their professional development

Working collaboratively within a fully integrated MDT including OTs, Physios, Therapy Assistants, and teaching staff

Contributing to service development and whole-school communication strategies
Who This Role Is For
This role suits an experienced Band 7 therapist or a strong Band 6 ready to step into clinical leadership.
You will need

HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist

Experience working with children or young people with complex SEND

Proven experience in dysphagia assessment and management

Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and multidisciplinary working

Confidence in clinical decision-making and leading best practice

A passion for integrated therapy and improving outcomes in SEN education
