About the role of School Speech and Language Therapist
This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join an amazing school for students with SEND requirements aged 4-19.
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass Speech and Language Therapy assessments, treatment and management of needs extended to life outside of school. You will assess, implement, and develop treatment programmes according to diagnosis and identified needs.
In this school, you can be enlist key supervision and support from other members of the therapy team and will be entitled to a fantastic structure for learning and development whilst working.
Candidate for the Speech and Language Therapist role should be/have:
- A registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) or registration in process. *Essential*
- Degree (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy
- Experience working in a specialist setting for children and young adults who have very complex needs including PMLD, SLD and Autism
- A passion to work in Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy.
- An understanding of Speech and Language Therapy process/interventions/assessments.
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
- Resilience and an ability to manage difficult situations.
- Self-motivating and ability to take strategic lead
- Physically able to undertake all aspects of the role
