Speech and Language Therapist – Paediatric SEND

Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting Speech and Language Therapists to join a specialist education and SEND service in Barnet.
The service is open to therapists across a range of experience levels, making this suitable for both developing clinicians and more experienced SaLTs looking for their next role within paediatric SEND.
You will work with children and young people who require support with communication, interaction and access to learning, as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
What will the role involve?
Responsibilities may include:

Completing speech, language and communication assessments

Identifying individual communication needs
-
Planning and delivering therapy programmes
-
Supporting expressive and receptive language
-
Supporting social communication and interaction
-
Advising education staff on communication strategies
-
Delivering direct and indirect intervention
-
Working closely with families and other professionals
-
Monitoring and reviewing pupil progress
-
Contributing to wider multidisciplinary planning
The level of responsibility will be matched appropriately to your experience and clinical banding.
Who are we looking for?
Essential:
-
Qualified Speech and Language Therapist
-
HCPC registration
-
Strong interest in paediatric SEND
-
Good communication and multidisciplinary working skills
Desirable:
-
Previous school or specialist education experience
-
Experience supporting autistic children and young people
-
Experience with complex communication needs
-
AAC knowledge or experience
-
Previous SEND caseload experience
