Sports Coach – Teaching Assistant Opportunities
Sports Coach looking for a new direction? Your skills could transfer brilliantly into a Teaching Assistant role.
I am looking to speak with Sports Coaches, PE Coaches, Activity Leaders and Youth Coaches who would be interested in moving into education and supporting children and young people in schools across Barnet and Camden.
If you already know how to motivate young people, set clear boundaries, build confidence and keep a group engaged, you already have many of the skills schools look for in a strong Teaching Assistant.
You could be supporting pupils with:
-
SEND and additional learning needs
-
Autism and communication needs
-
SEMH and emotional regulation
-
Confidence and engagement
-
Behaviour and routines
-
1:1 and small-group learning
You do not necessarily need previous classroom experience.
What matters is that you are confident working with young people, reliable, patient and able to build positive professional relationships.
These roles could be particularly well suited to someone who has worked as a:
-
Sports Coach
-
Football Coach
-
PE Coach
-
Activity Leader
-
Youth Worker
-
Camp Leader
-
Sports Graduate
Full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant opportunities
£95–£110 per day, depending on experience

Parker Smith Inclusion specialises exclusively in SEND recruitment, and I will talk you through the type of school and pupils you would be supporting before putting you forward.
If you are considering a move from sport into education, I would be happy to have an informal conversation about whether it could suit you.
