Parker Smith Inclusion is working with an outstanding SEMH school in Harlow, seeking a dedicated Teacher to join their specialist provision. This is an exciting opportunity to work with small groups of pupils, delivering tailored and engaging lessons that meet each learner’s academic, emotional and social needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to pupils with SEMH needs across primary or secondary phases, adapting content to individual learning and emotional needs
  • Work closely with teaching assistants to provide 1:1 or small group support
  • Implement therapeutic and inclusive teaching strategies to help pupils access learning effectively
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, confidence building and social skills development
  • Regularly assess pupil progress, adapt approaches as needed, and contribute to individual learning plans
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, pastoral staff, therapists and external professionals for a holistic approach to pupil development
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance SEMH expertise and teaching practice

About You

  • qualified teacher (QTS) with experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex behavioural needs
  • Patient, resilient and empathetic, able to manage challenging behaviours calmly and consistently
  • Strong communicator, able to build trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
  • Passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every pupil succeed
  • Able to work collaboratively within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team
  • Committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice
