We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, community-focused primary setting in Shepherd’s Bush. About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with special educational needs both on a 1:1 basis and, when required, within a specialist SEND provision. Pupils may present with autism, speech and language delays, and social communication needs.
You will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for primary-aged pupils with SEND, including autism and speech and language needs

Support learning within both mainstream classrooms and a specialist SEND provision

Adapt activities using child-centred and differentiated approaches

Use visual supports, communication strategies, and sensory-aware techniques

Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning

Support daily routines, transitions, and structured activities

Work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff to deliver personalised support plans

Help create a calm, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment

About You

Experience working with children with SEND (school-based or alternative settings preferred)

Confidence supporting pupils with autism and communication needs

Relevant experience or qualifications (Teaching Assistant, SEN support, childcare, psychology, youth work, etc.) are desirable but not essential
