Therapeutic Learning Mentor – Barking

£133 per day (PAYE)
Temp to Perm Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people? We are working with a truly inspiring therapeutic service operating across London, now expanding support in Barking. With a strict no exclusion policy, this service is dedicated to engaging the hardest to reach young people, those at high risk and often outside of formal education for extended periods.

In this role, you will support young people as they begin their journey with the service, playing a vital part in their induction, assessment, and transition over a two term period. Many of the young people you will work with have SEMH and or ASC diagnoses, alongside complex additional needs. Some may be at risk of exploitation or have experienced significant trauma, including exposure to violence or abuse.

This is your opportunity to be a consistent, positive presence helping them re engage, rebuild trust, and take steps toward a brighter future.

Why this role stands out:
This service has an exceptional track record of supporting young people back into education, training, or employment where they go on to thrive emotionally and socially. You will directly contribute to these life changing outcomes, helping young people regulate emotions, process trauma, and succeed in a supportive environment tailored to their needs.

What you will be doing:
Delivering outreach support to young people outside of traditional classroom settings
Creating and implementing holistic learning and transition plans
Supporting students across different London locations
Building strong, therapeutic relationships with young people
Managing and understanding dysregulated behaviour through a trauma informed approach

What is on offer:
The chance to genuinely change lives and see tangible outcomes
A varied role outside of a traditional classroom environment
Travel and lunch expenses reimbursed during working hours
Full time hours Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

What we are looking for:
Someone confident supporting young people with complex needs
Strong understanding of trauma informed practice
Ability to manage challenging behaviour with empathy and insight
Flexibility to travel across London
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people

If you are ready to be part of something meaningful, we would love to hear from you.
