SEMH Outreach Mentor
London | Immediate Start
£130 PAYE Per Day | Full-Time
Some young people do not need another exclusion. They need someone who will not give up on them.
We are working with a specialist therapeutic outreach provision supporting vulnerable young people across London who are currently unable to access mainstream education. This service takes a genuinely child-centred and no-exclusions approach, focusing on rebuilding trust, confidence, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning.
The young people supported by this provision often present with SEMH and ASC needs alongside complex lived experiences including trauma, exploitation, family breakdown, violence, and long-term disengagement from education.
As an SEMH Outreach Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping young people reconnect with education and begin moving towards a more stable and positive future. This is relationship-based work at its core. Progress may begin with a conversation, a short session of engagement, or a young person feeling safe enough to trust an adult again.
This role is ideal for someone resilient, emotionally intelligent, and passionate about supporting young people with complex needs in a therapeutic and trauma-informed way.
What the role involves:
• Providing 1:1 mentoring and support to vulnerable young people across London
• Supporting learners who have been out of education for extended periods
• Delivering engagement and reintegration support in community-based settings
• Building strong, consistent relationships based on trust and respect
• Managing dysregulated behaviour with patience, empathy, and understanding
• Supporting emotional regulation, confidence, and positive routines
• Working collaboratively with therapeutic and education professionals
The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience supporting young people with SEMH, ASC, trauma, or challenging behaviour
• Be calm, adaptable, and confident working independently
• Understand the importance of trauma-informed and relationship-led practice
• Be comfortable travelling across London for outreach support
• Be available full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
What’s on offer:
• £130 per day PAYE
• Immediate start available
• Travel expenses and lunch reimbursed during working hours
• The opportunity to make a genuine, long-term impact on young people’s lives
• A highly rewarding role within a respected therapeutic provision
This provision has an excellent track record of supporting young people back into education, training, and employment. Staff are genuinely invested in creating positive futures for learners who have often felt overlooked by traditional systems.
If you are looking for a role where relationship-building, consistency, and compassion truly matter, we would love to hear from you.
