Trauma-Informed Behaviour Mentor | SEMH & Autism Specialist School | Cricklewood, NW London | £500–£600 per week
Parker Smith Inclusion | Full Time | Term Time Only | Temp to Perm | Start: ASAP
About the Role
A specialist SEMH and Autism school in Cricklewood, North West London is recruiting a Trauma-Informed Behaviour Mentor to join their growing team. This is a full-time, term-time-only position paying £500–£600 per week PAYE, with a clear route to a permanent contract.
The school supports neurodivergent young people with Autism, SEMH needs, and trauma histories, using a neuro-affirming, therapeutic approach. Staff-to-student ratios are high, class sizes are small, and relationships come before everything else.
What You'll Be Doing
You will work directly with young people who have experienced significant challenges in education, supporting them to re-engage with learning, rebuild trust in adults, and develop the skills to manage their own emotions and behaviour. Using trauma-informed strategies, you will de-escalate difficult situations, provide consistency and structure, and build the kind of authentic relationships that become a genuine turning point for the young people you work with.
You will collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver a joined-up, therapeutic approach.
Who This Is For
This role suits candidates with experience in behaviour support, youth work, residential care, or alternative provisions. You may have worked with young people in SEMH settings, special schools, or pupil referral units, and you understand that behaviour is communication.
You will bring a calm, grounded presence; resilience under pressure; and a genuine commitment to every young person's potential. Knowledge of trauma-informed practice or neuro-affirming approaches is a strong advantage. Candidates considering careers in educational psychology, teaching, or therapy will find this role particularly valuable.
Salary and Benefits
£500–£600 per week PAYE, paid directly, no umbrella companies. Full-time hours during term time only. Genuine temp-to-perm opportunity within a school that is growing with purpose. Ongoing CPD and professional development within a specialist setting.
Location
Cricklewood, NW London — accessible from Brent Cross, Hendon, Kilburn, and surrounding areas.
