Are you driven to transform the confidence, wellbeing and potential of young people who need PE delivered with patience, purpose and heart?

A specialist SEN provision in Finchley is seeking an experienced, confident and compassionate Unqualified PE Teacher to deliver high-quality, nurturing physical education sessions to a very small group of pupils with complex needs. The school offers a calm, ethical and relationship-focused environment where consistency, respect and trust shape every decision.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference within a setting that values creativity, emotional safety and tailored support. With only nine pupils on site, you’ll have the freedom to design PE sessions that suit each learner’s readiness, interests and individual goals. Pupils thrive on structure and patience, so your ability to connect, reassure and inspire will be central to their progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible PE sessions for a very small SEN cohort

  • Drive pupils to off-site PE locations using the school vehicle (practice run required)

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may present as dysregulated

  • Support young people with ADHD, autism, school avoidance and social or emotional needs

  • Create a structured, safe and encouraging learning experience at all times

Candidate Profile

  • Strong experience delivering PE within SEN, primary, secondary or specialist settings

  • Confident driver with a full, clean licence

  • Calm, patient and supportive approach with vulnerable learners

  • Reflective, proactive and values-led, with a child-centred mindset

  • Comfortable working within a very small, specialist team

What the School Provides

  • Small cohort with exceptionally high levels of support

  • A therapeutic, relational environment with a committed SEN team

  • Freedom to deliver personalised, meaningful PE sessions off site

  • A culture built on honesty, wellbeing and dignity for every learner
