Parker Smith Inclusion are working with a welcoming primary school in Stanmore, Harrow, who are looking for an experienced Unqualified SEN Teacher to join their SEND provision.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND practitioner, Teaching Assistant or unqualified teacher to take on greater responsibility within a specialist SEND environment.

You will support and deliver learning for pupils with additional needs, helping to create a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment.

You will work alongside experienced SEND Teaching Assistants and the wider school team, with a strong focus on building relationships, supporting learning and managing behaviour effectively.

The school is an inclusive primary school in Stanmore, Harrow, committed to supporting pupils with additional needs and removing barriers to learning.

The SEND provision offers a supportive environment where pupils receive personalised support while being encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The role

As an Unqualified SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities

  • Adapt learning to meet individual SEND needs

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Establish clear routines, boundaries and expectations

  • Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently

  • Work closely with experienced SEND Teaching Assistants

  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development

  • Monitor progress and adapt your approach accordingly

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEND team

Who we are looking for

You do not need QTS for this position.

We are looking for someone with strong practical SEND experience who is confident taking responsibility for teaching and supporting pupils with additional needs.

You may currently be working as an:

  • Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant

  • Unqualified Teacher

  • SEN Practitioner

  • Specialist Support Worker

  • Behaviour Mentor with strong SEND experience

  • SEND professional looking to progress into teaching

You will need to be:

  • Experienced working with children with SEND

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour

  • Calm, patient and consistent

  • Confident leading learning

  • Able to adapt your approach to individual needs

  • A strong communicator and team player

  • Passionate about supporting pupils to succeed
