Join our creative and supportive SEN School in Kingston as an Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant! We are working with a fantastic school in the Kingston area to support students with PMLD and complex needs. In this role, you will be working alongside various professionals in a bespoke building with a range of sensory rooms, a hydrotherapy pool and therapists. In this role, you will be supporting students with various activities which promote mobility and sensory needs.
About the Role:
- Position: Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant
- Providing support to students with Autism/ASC, complex needs, severe learning difficulties, profound multiple learning difficulties, and medical needs, in their academic and personal development
- Salary: £85 - £95 PAYE per day
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4pm
- Start Date: ASAP or January start
Responsibilities:
- Supporting children of all age groups with a wide range of learning difficulties, including Autism and Autism spectrum, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and profound multiple learning difficulties
- Assisting with personal care tasks as needed
- Providing support during hydrotherapy swimming sessions
- Engaging students in play-based activities and creative learning, such as arts and crafts, music, drama, and dance
Requirements:
- Passion for working with SEN students
- Enthusiasm for creative and play-based learning
- Ability to support students with diverse needs effectively
- Experience or willingness to assist with personal care tasks
- Ability to provide support during hydrotherapy swimming sessions
- Ideally be an undergraduate e.g. drama, psychology, criminology, health & social care, sociology etc.
