Some children need more than support with their learning.
They need someone who can look beyond behaviour, build trust and help them feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
Parker Smith Inclusion is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Chelmsford that is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism.
The pupil is non-verbal and requires consistent, individualised support throughout the school day. They are a bright and engaging child who benefits from a calm, structured and nurturing approach.
The school is looking for someone who understands that behaviour is a form of communication and can recognise when a child is becoming dysregulated. The pupil may attempt to leave the learning environment when overwhelmed, so the successful candidate will need to remain calm under pressure, think on their feet and prioritise the child's safety and wellbeing.
This is an opportunity for someone who can build a meaningful relationship, provide consistency and celebrate the small steps that make a big difference.
