SEMH Teaching Assistant
SEMH Secondary School - Stratford
£100 per day PAYE
8:30 - 4:30 Monday - Friday
I am seeking an experienced SEMH TA to support within a year 7 class at a specialist school based in Stratford, this is a full time role working Monday - Friday. As this is a specialist social, emotional, mental health setting I can only consider candidates that have minmum 2 years experience within a school setting supporting SEND/SEMH students.
This particular role is to support 2 students within a Year 7 classes that have a more anxious profile, which means you'll need to be nurturing, patient and empathetic. They are in a class with some more confident personalities and the school doesn't want them to feel overwhelmed by their new surrondings. Being that this is the new school year they are going to be feeling a lot of emotions so you'll have to work closesly with them to support this and encourage friendships and learning.
Other duties would be;
- Behaviour management
- Supporting class teacher
- Working as a team
- Supporting within lessons
- Safeguarding
- De-escalation techniques
- Anxiety interventions
