Many of the young people you will support have faced barriers that go far beyond the classroom. Your role will be to provide stability, build positive relationships, and create a safe space where they can begin to trust, regulate, and grow.

About the school:

A specialist school in Hillingdon offering a supportive, co-educational environment for students aged 5 to 18 years old. The school provides a highly personalised approach to learning, catering for students with special needs with a particular focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

With small class sizes and tailored support, the school combines academic learning with therapeutic approaches to help pupils build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills preparing them for a positive and successful future.

Key features include:

  • Individualised learning programmes tailored to each student
  • Specialist support for SEN, including SEMH needs
  • Small class sizes and high staff-to-student ratios
  • Integrated therapeutic and wellbeing support
  • A nurturing environment focused on personal growth and independence

About the role:

You will be responsible for supporting students with SEMH across either primary or secondary classes, playing a pivotal role in their development. You will work closely with your peers to understand how to manage levels of dysregulation of students and effectively improve their behaviour. This is a role that will take you beyond the classroom, not only to support students academically but also socially.

Who this role will suit:

If you have supported students from vulnerable backgrounds both in a professional or personal capacity and take pride in providing a real impact in their development academically and socially, this will be the perfect role for you. You will be calm, resilient and nurturing, and you understand that every student has their own way of expressing and learning.
