Youth Mentor
Greenwich
£100 - £110 per day (PAYE)
Some young people just need someone to rely on and someone who they can trust, are you that person?
We are working closely with our schools to recruit Youth Mentor's who can build trust, provide stability and help young people re-engage with education and everyday life.
This role is ideal for someone who understands that behaviour is communication and who can remain calm, consistent and supportive when young people are finding things difficult.
About the role:
As a Youth Mentor, you will work closely with students who may be experiencing challenges related to SEND, SEMH, trauma or social exclusion. Your role will be centred around building positive relationships, supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence.
You may work one-to-one or in small groups, supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom. Every day will be different, but your presence will be a constant.
We’re looking for someone who:
-
Has experience working with young people in education, youth work, care or community settings
-
Is patient, empathetic and able to set clear boundaries
-
Can build strong, trusting relationships with young people
-
Is resilient and confident in supporting challenging behaviour
-
Believes in second chances and inclusive education
