Are you a Youth Worker, Mentor, or Sports Coach looking to transition into a school-based role where you can make a genuine impact?

Do you have the resilience, empathy, and consistency to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

I am working with several specialist SEN schools and Alternative Provisions in Wembley who are seeking dedicated Youth Workers to support pupils who may struggle with behaviour, engagement, or emotional regulation. Many students have experienced disrupted education or challenging life circumstances and need strong, positive role models to help them succeed.

This is a full-time, term-time only opportunity offering excellent training, support, and long-term progression within education.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils re-engage with education
• Support learning in the classroom and manage behaviour in a calm, proactive manner
• Assist with behaviour support plans and implement strategies alongside teachers and pastoral staff
• Promote resilience, confidence, and self-esteem through structured support
• Support pupils in developing social and communication skills
• Act as a positive role model and consistent adult presence
• Encourage participation in enrichment activities such as sport, art, and outdoor learning

Requirements
• Experience working with young people in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, schools, or community settings
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence supporting pupils with SEMH needs
• Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
• Passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to education
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and remain proactive in a dynamic environment
• Team Teach or de-escalation training is desirable (training can be provided)
